Badgers wrap up historic fall season in Georgia

MADISON, Wis. —  The Wisconsin men's golf team heads to Pinetree Country Club for its final team event of the fall season, Oct. 22-23, at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Here are five things to know before the Badgers tee off:

1. Last Time Out:  Senior Jordan Hahn led a Badgers' display of low scores and multiple record-breaking performances as UW broke the 54-hole school record with an 11-under par total of 841 at the Fighting Irish Classic in Notre Dame, Indiana. Wisconsin's three-round total eclipsed the 1998 record (844) set at the Northern Intercollegiate by three shots.

2. The Course: Originally designed in 1962 by the famous golf architect Chick Adams, Pinetree Country Club's 18 is one of the finest private golf courses in Georgia. Pinetree's challenging layout has played host to golf legends like Arnold Palmer, Bobby Jones, Sam Snead and Tommy Aaron. The course weaves through rolling hills, towering Georgia pines, flowering shrubs, native hardwoods, and several local brooks and ponds in Kennesaw.

3. The Lineup: Senior Jordan Hahn, junior Pete Kuhl, sophomores Griffin Barela,  Sam Anderson and Tom Calbi will be the starting five Badgers in Georgia.

4. The Opposition: Wisconsin will take on Austin Peay, Belmont, Elon, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville State, host Kennesaw State, Mercer, Nicholls State, Northern Illinois and Western Kentucky.

5. Thoughts from Coach Burcin:

"This weekend is going to be a lot of fun, we are very excited to get back to competing. Being -16 in the last four rounds has given the guys a boost of confidence. This is the type of golf they are capable of playing."
