Here's a recap of this evening's events surrounding Luke Foley's resignation:
- Pressure mounted on Luke Foley to resign from his role as the NSW Labor Leader early this afternoon after the ABC published a statement from journalist Ashleigh Raper detailing allegations against him.
- Ms Raper alleged that Mr Foley put his hand through a gap in her dress, down her underpants and touched her buttock at a Christmas party.
- It was announced just after 5pm that Mr Foley intended to resign from his role.
- Speaking at NSW Parliament at about 5.30pm, he announced his resignation, but said all allegations against him are "false" and he intends to sue the ABC.
- He will remain the Member for Auburn and sit on the back bench in Parliament.
- ABC news director Gaven Morris tweeted just before 6.30pm that the organisation still stands by Ms Raper's statement.
