Ten area players earn All-Ohio in soccer

Ontario's Andrew Cacchio earned Division II Second Team All-Ohio.

MANSFIELD - In all, 10 area soccer players picked up All-Ohio honors for their incredible seasons in 2018.

In Division II boys soccer, Ontario's Andrew Cacchio was named to the All-Ohio second team; Lexington's William Schaefer joined him on that list.

Cacchio finished his senior season with 16 goals and nine assists for a team-high 41 points leading the Warriors to a successful 12-6-2 finish, a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference title and a district runner-up finish. Cacchio was the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 2018.

Lexington's Will Schaefer earned Division II Second Team All-Ohio.

Schaefer was instrumental in leading the Lexington Minutemen to a 14-6 campaign in 2018 which included a Division II district championship. He was the leader of a defense that posted 12 shutouts during his three-year varsity career.

Mansfield Christian's Jared Mount earned Division III First Team All-Ohio.

In Division III boys soccer, Jared Mount of Mansfield Christian earned first team All-Ohio honors for his spectacular season. Mount was dominant in 2018, finishing with 21 goals and six assists for a grand total of 48 points. He led the Flames to a 6-10-1 finish.

Ashland's Lexi Farrell earned Division I First Team All-Ohio honors.

In Division I girls soccer, Lexi Farrell of Ashland picked up first team All-Ohio honors. Farrell finished with just three goals, but was the leader on a defense that allowed just 11 goals all season long and recorded 11 shutouts. She was named the Ohio Cardinal Conference Defensive Player of the Year for her efforts.

In Division II girls soccer, Madison's Taylor Huff was joined by Clear Fork's Kaylin Helinski on the All-Ohio first team, with Ontario Bria Meisse, Lexington's Gabby Stover and Madison's Julia Litt taking second team All-Ohio honors.

Madison's Talyor Huff earned Division II first team All-Ohio honors.

Huff was named the Ohio Cardinal Conference Offensive Player of the Year after scoring 31 goals with 19 assists, giving her an incredible 81 points on the season. She led the Lady Rams to the Ohio Cardinal Conference championship as well as a Division II district title with a 16-2-3 overall record. Her teammate, Litt, was a defensive specialist playing the sweeper position yet she still scored two goals and assisted on one. Litt was instrumental in leading the Rams to eight shutout victories.

Clear Fork's Kaylin Helinski was named Division II first team All-Ohio.

Helinski was the leading goal-scorer in Richland County with 34 goals. Combined with her seven assists, Helinski contributed with 75 points leading the Lady Colts to a Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference championship. Clear Fork finished the year at 13-4-2.

Ontario's Bria Meisse was named Division II Second Team All-Ohio.

Meisse led all Richland County girls soccer players with 83 total points scoring 33 goals and assisting on 17 leading the Lady Warriors to an 11-8-1 record and a district runner-up finish to the season.

Stover led Lady Lex with 14 goals and six assists to post 34 points to lead Lexington to a 8-6-4 record and a trip to the district tournament. 

Crestview's Carley Campo was named Division III second team All-Ohio.

In Division III girls soccer, Crestview's Carly Campo took second team All-Ohio honors. She finished the year with 19 goals and 16 assists for a total of 54 points. Campo was instrumental in leading the Lady Cougars to the best season in school history with a 16-2-1 record and a Division III district runner-up finish.
