Arrest Made In Wayne 2013 Armed Robbery

Raul Revilla, 34, allegedly broke into and robbed Gencarelli's Bakery on Valentine's Day in 2013.

WAYNE, NJ — Police arrested a man in connection with the robbery of a township bakery in February 2013 after reopening the case and reviewing evidence, authorities said.

Raul Revilla, 34, of Paterson was charged with robbery, burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and several weapons-related charges.

Police responded to call they received about an armed robbery at the bakery shortly before 4 a.m. Feb. 14, 2013, said Detective Capt. Laurence Martin.

Police determined that three armed suspects fled the scene before they arrived. They searched the area and were not able to find the suspects.

The suspects stole money and personal items from bakery employees, Martin said.

Detective David Hopped reopened the case March 1 and reviewed evidence and statements taken when the robbery occurred. This led to charged being filed against Revilla.

Police are continuing to investigate and future arrests may be pending, Martin said.
