Does anyone happen to know what the major brands of boxing gloves were back in the days of Jeffries and Jack Johnson? Or were the gloves typically just custom made for each fighter, rather than sold under a brand name? It sounds like Everlast didn't start making gloves until sometime around 1917-1920, so I'm talking about the period prior to that.
Levinson gloves out of San Francisco were used by Jeffries and Fitzsimmons. Fitz stated he felt these gloves helped protect better his hands.
