A man has been found dead in his car at Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, a representative for Bonnaroo confirmed to Pitchfork. His body was discovered around 10:05 a.m. Eastern this morning in the festival’s camping area. He was a 35-year-old man. “The medical team responded immediately and found him unresponsive upon arrival. Our understanding is that his car was running and the heat was on, but cause of death has not been determined,” read Bonnaroo’s statement. “The safety of our patrons is our highest priority, and our sympathies go out to his family and friends.”
According to the Daily News, a spokesman for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office said that officials are investigating the cause of death, but foul play is not suspected. It is the first time someone has died at Bonnaroo since 2015.
Bonnaroo 2018 began yesterday, June 7, and was scheduled to run through Sunday, June 10. The headliners are Eminem, the Killers, and Muse.
