SYOSSET, Long Island (PIX11) — Missing Long Island college student Jasmine Joseph was found dead inside her car, her family confirmed Tuesday.

Her gray Nissan was found in a shopping plaza parking lot off Jericho Turnpike in Syosset late Monday night, police said.

The 22-year-old, who was a nursing student, told her parents she was going to study at the New York Institute of Technology library February 24, and never returned.

Jasmine Joseph told her parents she was going to the NYIT library, and never returned.

The girl’s parents, Sony and Lovely, were stunned to learn from police that their daughter had not attended classes at the school since May 2013, although they had already paid her tuition for the fall and winter semesters.

“This time, we never see her report card,” Jasmine’s mother said, “but last spring, the other semesters, she was a straight-A student.  When her father asked to see the report card, she said there was something wrong with the computer.”

Police determined that Jasmine was actually a gym in Syosset when she told her mom she was at the school’s Old Westbury campus.
