Scouts BSA holds Bismarck recruitment event

In October of 2017 the Boy Scouts of America announced girls would be allowed into the program, and as of February the new program will be launched.
A recruitment event was held south of Bismarck Saturday night for the new program, Scouts BSA. Troops will be either all boys or all girls. Everyone will receive the same opportunities, merit badges and ranks. Bismarck is expected to have three girls troops.
"Scouts, in general, is a family activity, and our troop is really kind of big on that," said Damien Seese, scoutmaster.
"I grew up in a family that does a lot of scouting, so it's a really big deal for me to be able to do the same stuff my brother can," said Ella Gilkerson, scout.
