Courtney Dubois: Funeral Set For Oct. 20

The dismembered remains of Courtney Dubois, 20, were found Aug. 13 at the Bartow County landfill in Cartersville.

CARTERSVILLE, GA — Funeral services will be held this weekend in Maine for the woman whose dismembered remains were discovered in August at the Bartow County landfill. Friends and family will say goodbye to Courtney N. Dubois, 20, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at St Louis Catholic Church in Limestone, Maine, her obituary states. A burial service for Dubois will be held following the ceremony at St. Louis Cemetery.

Dubois' remains were found at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 by a Bartow County sanitation worker, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office previously said. The woman's murder remains a mystery, as the sheriff's office continues to work leads generated in the case.

According to her obituary, Dubois was born Feb. 2, 1998, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to Adam and Lisa Dubois. She loved animals and wanted to become a veterinarian. She also loved camping, being outdoors and looked forward to having children.

"Her friends called her the 'psychiatrist' because she enjoyed listening to people and helping them with their problems," the obituary adds.

She is survived by father, Adam Dubois and his wife, Mary Bender; mother, Lisa Dubois; siblings, Joseph Dubois, Brandy McRae, Shana Hill, and Suzanne Hopkins; grandparents, Silvio Dubois, Phyllis Dubois, Billy Barnum and Veronica Barnum; uncle and aunts, Scott and Christina Dubois, and Rebecca Fuller; and nieces and nephews, Russell, Keanan, Emily, Nevaeh, and Graelynn.
