WWE WrestleMania 33 has arrived, and many fans are ready for the hype to end and the event to begin.

Some are anticipating it more than others, mostly because of Sunday's card, which definitely has some weak spots.

Shane McMahon versus AJ Styles is an obvious example, as there just didn't seem to be any reason for the two to work a match. That is especially true, as the WrestleMania stage is typically used to settle big feuds and make new stars.

Considering Shane is not even a wrestler and AJ is one of the company's top guys, it's a mismatch.

Braun Strowman had caught fire over the past couple months but ended up without a 'Mania opponent. Instead, he's been booked in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, a match he will likely win. It seemed as though WWE was grooming him for bigger things, but his immediate future is uncertain.

Then there's Roman Reigns versus The Undertaker.

Some feel this could be The Deadman's last ride, but there aren't many who want to see Reigns be the man who retires the legend. That contradicts everything the New Era supporters believe in, as the future must begin in full at some point.

Why would Reigns not be factored into that equation?

But legends deserve to be treated with respect and handled the right way next to WWE's younger crop of stars. It's unknown exactly how each match will play out, but it is clear the company is walking a tightrope between the past and future.

Each legend has earned the opportunity to shine, and that's exactly what should happen on Sunday.

Chris Jericho

Of all the legends booked at WrestleMania 33, Chris Jericho has perhaps the best story backing his match.

The feud between him and Kevin Owens has been handled expertly, which includes KO's initial betrayal of Y2J. Fans were emotionally connected from that point on and are surely anticipating their showdown on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

But what will happen with The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla?

Jericho's band, Fozzy, is heading out on the road soon. The "Judas Rising" tour will span the entire month of May, and the first gig is on May 5. That means there are only four weeks from WrestleMania to Fozzy's first show, and Jericho will likely need time to prepare.

However, that does not necessarily mean he will lose at 'Mania. There is always the possibility that Jericho will go over and retain the United States Championship, only to lose it the next night on Raw. Owens could demand a rematch, win the title and then destroy Jericho after the bell.

Y2J would be written off of TV, and KO would be left to toe the line as Monday Night Raw's top heel.

Triple H

Seth Rollins is preparing to play The Game.

Triple H is back in the ring on pay-per-view, and he's looking to shut down his former protegee once and for all. It's a match that had to happen, and fans are debating just which direction WWE should go here.

The fact is there's only one logical route.

Triple H must do the honors at WrestleMania. Hunter has nothing to gain by winning, and neither does the company. Rollins is a main event guy, he's a major player on Raw and he needs this win over his former mentor.

Rollins needs to take that one final step to be considered among the top three guys in WWE, and many already believe him to be much higher than that. But if that has any chance of happening, then he must get this victory over Triple H.

From WWE's perspective, this is Hunter's opportunity to make Rollins. Indeed, all roads to the top of Raw eventually go through Triple H. Fans know this and fully expect Rollins to overthrow The King of Kings.

Triple H should drop the pin to Rollins, and he could even tap out. If the latter happens, then Rollins would have the ultimate bragging rights over The Game.

The Big Show

Big Show has never looked better.

After spending the bulk of 2016 sculpting his body, Show found himself in the best shape of his life. His new physique would serve him well against NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal in a WrestleMania battle of the giants.

However, that match never materialized.

Instead, Big Show is headed to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Though Braun Strowman has a world of potential and has been red-hot as of late, that does not necessarily mean he will be the last man standing in this match.

If this happens to be Big Show's last WrestleMania, or his last match altogether, he deserves to go out on top.

Veteran Superstars typically go out on their backs, and the same will probably be true of Big Show. But he could still be given some great moments during Sunday's Battle Royal. He should be the last man in the ring with Strowman, and the two should have an epic fight to end the match.

WWE could go in the other direction and give Big Show the victory, but either way, Show deserves to look good and have fun. He's earned it.

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar

Fans are holding their collective breath for this one.

The reason for that has to do with the uncertainty surrounding the reception that Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will receive at WrestleMania. If the audience decides the match is not worth a second look, then both men will get booed out of Camping World Stadium.

WWE cannot afford that reaction.

That's especially true if this match goes on last, as many fans expect it will. WWE needs the crowd to be alive, to be connected and to care about what happens. Neither Goldberg nor Lesnar is a full-time Superstar, but there must be a winner.

Fans will be waiting to be impressed, and with any luck, they will be.

Goldberg and Lesnar must bring everything they have to this match. An 86-second bout will not work this time. There must be a clear-cut winner, a man who has the obvious advantage in the end. That man will likely be The Beast Incarnate.

Lesnar should win the WWE Universal Championship. WWE could book it the other way, allowing Goldberg to keep the strap. But there's no payoff in that move, and Goldberg could always come back to fight another day.

He's done an amazing job of keeping himself in peak physical condition. He's got a great attitude and is willing to do business. Goldberg's loss to Lesnar will leave The Beast to continue on and open the door for the former WCW champion to do other things in WWE after 'Mania is over.

Randy Orton took the low road on a heel and somehow turned babyface because of it.

The Viper's betrayal of Bray Wyatt was evident from the moment he pledged allegiance to The Eater of Worlds. The move just did not make sense, so many sat back and waited for The Viper to strike.

They were not disappointed.

However, this match has the potential to backfire on WWE. Fans may boo Orton and cheer Wyatt. A double turn would result, leaving everyone wondering how the match will end. Orton is expected to take the WWE Championship, but that may not be the case.

Wyatt has come too far and worked too hard to drop the title. Orton is a trusted veteran and a proven commodity as world champion, but that does not mean he should win the strap. Orton will turn in his usual solid match, but it won't be enough.

Whether he does it with assistance from his family or alone, Wyatt must retain the championship. Orton will make him look good, and Wyatt will do his part. The Viper can go on to perform whatever WWE wants because he is capable of doing anything.

But Wyatt should walk out of WrestleMania as the WWE champion.

Orton is a legend and will look like one yet again at 'Mania. He can bounce back and perhaps even win the title from Wyatt at a later date. Wyatt is part of the New Era and needs the win on Sunday.

John Cena's match at WrestleMania 33 could perhaps best be described as "fluff."

He and Nikki Bella will face The Miz and Maryse in a mixed tag match that seems to be booked for no other reason than to give Cena something to do. WWE's top guy has begun to step aside for the next generation, which means his feuds are not coming quite as often as before.

So rather than get a full-time rivalry going with another Superstar, WWE evidently chose to book Cena in this throwaway match.

That's not to suggest the bout won't be entertaining. All four Superstars have the ability to deliver in the ring and give fans some fun moments along the way. Cena and Miz have history, and that can be addressed.

Miz has done some of his best work over the past year and has truly established himself as a real player in the company.

However, this match will probably not do him any favors. Though Cena is looking set to become a part-time Superstar, he and Nikki are likely going over at WrestleMania. That means The Miz will be left back where he started and that Cena will continue as the smiling, happy-go-lucky Superstar he's always been.

But if fans had their way, he would probably drop the pin to Miz.

WWE is moving ahead, and though Miz is not a New Era talent, he should still be given something more than just a WrestleMania loss as a consolation prize instead of a championship match. But this match is likely going to be all about Cena.

He could propose to Nikki after they win the match, putting him one step closer to WWE's exit door.

Undertaker

Undertaker is in an interesting spot, to say the least.

On one hand, a win over Roman Reigns is a win over the future of WWE. Though The Big Dog is one of the most hated Superstars in the company, he's still a New Era talent and deserves to be built up as much as possible.

His critics would say he's already been built up far too much.

On the other hand, a loss to Reigns could mean The Deadman is done. The problem with that is Reigns has fallen so far behind in terms of fan support that retiring The Undertaker could be a death sentence for him.

The only logical play is a heel turn for Reigns.

It's the one thing that could finally set The Juggernaut in the right direction. If he were to lose at WrestleMania, only to then snap and attack Undertaker after the match, every angle would be covered. Taker would not need to retire. Reigns would lose, but it would not matter.

He would still win in the end.

As WrestleManias come and go, the clock continues to count down for The Phenom. Fans know it's only a matter of time until he rides off into the sunset. It's something that many surely do not want to think about, but it's a fact of life for every WWE Superstar.

Taker's time is coming. But it should not come on Sunday.
