Woman Arrested For Razor Assault: New Haven PD

The woman slashed a victim in the face, police said.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Officers arrested a city woman who cut a man's face with a razor blade in the 200 block of Dixwell Avenue, according to police.

The 50-year-old victim told police he was assaulted April 22 around 9 a.m. by a woman wearing a pink hat who was possibly inside a nearby church, said Officer David Hartman, police spokesman.

The suspect, Edielee Sims, 55, said she slashed the man because he threw hot coffee on her, but both the victim and a witness denied that, Hartman said. The victim said Sims first threatened to cut him with a crack pipe, but found a razor and used that instead.
