Trump supporter apologizes to CNN’s Jim Acosta for giving him the finger

A Trump supporter apologized for giving CNN’s Jim Acosta the middle finger at Trump rally in Tampa, Fla., in August.

According to a video posted by Acosta on Twitter, he and the man “had a moment” during a Trump rally in Fort Myers, Fla., on Wednesday evening.

“I just want to apologize for flipping you off in Tampa,” the man said in the video. “I got carried away … I was asking for facts and not opinions.”

“That’s all we want,” the woman standing next to him said.

Acosta then told the man that he accepted his apology.

“Thank you very much. I accept your apology, and I hope I get to see you again,” said Acosta, who was holding the camera.

Acosta was heckled by Trump supporters at the Tampa rally earlier this year, and Acosta said of the experience that “it felt like we weren’t in America anymore.”

President Trump has been critical of CNN and has labeled the network a “fake news” outlet. He has also been critical of outlets such as the New York Times and NBC News.
