Napa Undercover Investigation Leads To Several Drug-Related Arrests

A month-long undercover investigation in Napa culminated this week with the last arrest of 5 alleged drug dealers and 2 other suspects.

NAPA, CA -- A month-long undercover drug investigation in Napa culminated this week with the last arrest of five alleged drug dealers and two other suspects, according to the Napa Special Investigations Bureau.

During February and March, NSIB detectives acquired information related to suspected drug dealers selling prescription drugs, methamphetamine and heroin in and around Napa. The dealers allegedly directed their sales toward younger adults.

During the investigation, an undercover detective met with and bought drugs from seven suspects, including three sources who supplied local drug dealers.

According to NSIB officials, in mid-February, an undercover detective met with and bought Percocet and Xanax pills from 20-year-old Nolan Amos of Napa in the River Park Shopping Center located in the 1600 block of Imola Avenue.

During the undercover purchase, assisting detectives learned that Amos allegedly acquired the Xanax pills from 22-year-old Jose Gonzalez of Napa, who obtained them from 19-year-old Julian Reyes, also of Napa. NSIB officials later served a search warrant at Reyes' home in the 2000 block of Maria Drive, but Reyes was not home at the time.

Amos also allegedly offered to sell the undercover detective methamphetamine, which was supplied by 19-year-old Richard Borrayo of Vallejo. The following day, detectives met and purchased methamphetamine from Borrayo in the parking lot of a commercial establishment in the 200 block of West American Canyon Road in American Canyon.

In the following days, detectives met with and purchased methamphetamine from Borrayo in front of his apartment complex in the 2700 block of Tuolumne Street in Vallejo, NSIB officials said.

In late February, undercover detectives met with and purchased heroin from 20-year-old Joshua McComb of Napa, at the South Napa Marketplace located in the 200 block of Soscol Avenue. McComb was accompanied by 23-year-old Napa resident Stuart Waldenburg, who detectives learned was the source of the heroin, NSIB officials said.

Earlier this month, detectives met with Amos again and he allegedly offered to sell Xanax and marijuana. Detectives arrested him for the prior Xanax and Percocet sales, NSIB officials said.

Around the same time, undercover detectives met with Gonzalez in front of his home in the 2500 block of Marin Street, directly across from Napa High School.

During the meeting, Gonzalez allegedly sold the detective marijuana. Detectives then detained Gonzalez and recovered additional evidence of drug sales. A criminal complaint against him has been forwarded to the Napa County District Attorney's Office, NSIB officials said.

Earlier this month, detectives also met with McComb in the South Napa Marketplace shopping center where he sold them heroin. He was arrested without incident.

Later that day, detectives met with Borrayo in the parking lot of a business in the 7000 block of Main Street in American Canyon. Borrayo again sold them methamphetamine, which detectives learned was supplied by
51-year-old Arturo Acosta of Vallejo. Both Borrayo and Acosta were arrested without incident.

On Tuesday, detectives searched Acosta's home in the 400 block of Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo, where they seized about $1,300 in suspected drug proceeds.
