COPPERAS COVE, TX — The first ever Runway of Hope hosted by Pink Warrior Angels of Texas is set to kick off Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Cancer survivors of all ages and different cancer diagnoses will hit the runway and strike a pose.
Breast cancer survivor Julie Moser is the founder of Pink Warrior Angels of Texas. Runway of Hope is just one of many events she has created to make sure fellow cancer survivors are equipped with resources to help them through their journey.
In preparation for the event, the non-profit organization hosted a "strut talk," where the models worked with a professional model, trainer and coach.
"So Strut Talk is the conversation with no words. It's where I use runway as a form of therapy to help people strut through the things that they're going through," explained Lolita Frazier with Loco Strut Runway.
The session was all about building confidence and empowering the survivors.
One of those survivors was 14-year-old Kaitlyn LLanez. She is one of the more than a dozen models who will rock the runway this Friday at the Killeen Civic and Conference Center.
"They're very strong people like mentally and physically. I'm excited to participate in it," said LLanez.
All Runway of Hope proceeds will go toward providing direct support for cancer survivors.
