ESPN used photo of Bryce Harper's brother in Home Run Derby graphic

Bryce Harper wowed the Home Run Derby crowd at Nationals Park on Monday night when he won the dinger contest, catching Chicago Cubs’ Kyle Schwarber in the final matchup with, stunningly, nine homers in 50 seconds.

The Washington Nationals’ slugger put on an incredible show throughout the derby, hitting a total of 45 home runs while beating out the Braves’ Freddie Freeman and the Dodgers Max Muncy, along with Schwarber, one-on-one.

However, while using a graphic to break down where some of the home runs landed, ESPN used the wrong Harper. The mugshot is of Bryce Harper’s brother, Bryan — who is technically still part of the Nationals organization, playing for the team’s AA affiliate Harrisburg Senators, but who is also definitely not Bryce.

The Home Run Derby winner’s wife, Kayla — among others — brought this to the internet’s attention.

Oops.

However, this did make the Home Run Derby a bit more of a family affair with Papa Harper, Ron, pitching to Bryce throughout the contest. And if it wasn’t clear before, based on this family’s facial hair, they’re all obviously related.
