Fight breaks out at San Ysidro border

Share

Cross-border commuters cut off by an aggressive driver at the San Ysidro Port of Entry typically honk their horns. A few may shout or gesture.

It's highly unusual for them to come to blows. But that's what happened Monday morning as a nearby driver recorded the incident.

It apparently began when one driver tried to force his way into another driver’s lane, a Tijuana police spokesman said.

Someone’s car got dented, and suddenly two men were out of their cars, one pinning the other man to the ground and pummeling him with his fist.

“Let him go, already, what’s wrong with you,” a spectator cried out, as surrounding cars honked.

The video showed the incident unfolding, and the arrival of a Tijuana police officer arriving to break up the fight.

The police spokesman said that the two parties “arrived at a monetary agreement and the matter was concluded there.”
