MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A Pennsylvania man who allegedly robbed two Morgantown banks has been extradited from Pennsylvania and is now lodged in the North Central Regional Jail.
Dustin Albert Bohna, 37, of Hiller, Pa., was booked Thursday evening. He was taken into custody in Star Junction, Pa., on April 26.
Morgantown Police had obtained arrest warrants for Bohna armed robbery for allegedly robbing the United Bank in Sabraton on Jan. 11 and BB&T Bank in Sabraton on April 13.
According to criminal complaints: About 11:43 a.m. Jan. 11, a male entered United Bank on Earl L. Core Road and demanded money from a teller. The suspect told the teller he had a gun and made a motion to show it.
The teller gave the robber about $1,700 and he left the bank. The suspect was described as a white male, about 5-foot-10, wearing a black and red plaid jacket or shirt, a maroon or dark red beanie, dark gloves, blue jeans and dark boots.
Morgantown Police Department detectives investigated and security camera footage from around the bank showed the suspect walking from and running to Listravia Avenue, which runs parallel to Earl L. Core Road. Police found a .22 revolver loaded with two types of blank ammunition in the area.
Video footage also showed a dark Jeep Grand Cherokee entering the Listravia area before the robbery and leaving after.
That same vehicle was seen on security footage of an April 13 robbery that occurred about 11:25 a.m. at BB&T Bank, also on Earl L. Core Road. Detectives were able to clearly identify the color as black and noticed a distinct discoloration above the driver’s side doors on the roof of the vehicle.
During that robbery, the suspect demanded money from a teller and lifted his shirt to show her a silver revolver in the waist band of his pants. The teller handed the robber about $200 and he left. That suspect was described as a white male, wearing a dark baseball cap, gray hoodie with the word “Pacifica” on the front, blue jeans and dark shoes.
MPD later learned a BB&T Bank in Kingwood was robbed March 13, also by a white male suspect. Video from that robbery showed the man wearing an outfit similar to the one in the April 13 robbery, including the gray “Pacifica” hoodie.
Detectives reached out to the West Virginia Intelligence Fusion Center, a state agency that monitors criminal activity, for information on 2002-’03 Jeep Grand Cherokees in Greene and Fayette counties, in Pennsylvania. Detectives learned Bohna was the registered owner of a 2003 Grand Cherokee and lived in Fayette County.
Bonha was charged with bank robbery in Pennsylvania in 2012 and was located in Preston County when he was arrested for those charges.
The vehicle was located April 26, in Star Junction, Pa. The address where the vehicle was found matched Annette Ford, whom Bohna listed as his girlfriend on social media.
Bohna is being held on $200,000 bail.
