Arsenal and Liverpool face battle with Lyon and Marseille for Sevilla defender Simon Kjaer

The Denmark skipper has caught the eye after performing at the World Cup

Arsenal and Liverpool face stiff competition from France in the race to sign Simon Kjaer, with Lyon and Marseille both considering bids for the Sevilla star.

Kjaer only joined Sevilla from Turkish giants Fenerbahce last summer and despite making 28 appearances in all competitions, the defender could well be on the move again.

The Denmark international particularly impressed at the World Cup and his list of admirers has grown as a result.

Both Arsenal and Liverpool have been keeping close tabs on the 29-year-old for some time, while interest all stems from across Europe.

Including France, where according to ABC de Sevilla, both Marseille and Lyon are ready to make their move.

Kjaer is reportedly considering his options and now that the World Cup is drawing to a close, the defender is ready to announce his decision on where he will be playing next season.
