It’s been awhile since we heard anything about The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks amid all of the drama with her co-stars, but now Parks is speaking out about the show and of course throwing a little bit of shade at some of the other ladies.

Parks graces the cover of the September issue of Rolling Out magazine and reminded fans that she’s still the same reality star with no filter that viewers fell in love with.

“I’m on a show where they speak death all the time. But the way I have conducted myself has set me apart because I really try to think before I speak. I try not to say things that I can’t come back from. I’m always very careful, and just because you’re thinking something doesn’t mean you should say it. But there’ve been a lot of times where I wanted to rip somebody’s wig off.”

She added that she keeps in mind that it is very likely her two young sons will watch the series in the future, so she wants to avoid any moment that would make them “disappointed or embarrassed.”

She also opened up about her husband, Apollo Nida, who is currently serving an eight-year sentence in federal prison after he pleaded guilty to being a part of a huge scam that laundered more than $2 million.

But in true Parks form, she has found a way to make something positive out of that situation as well.

“People have seen how I’ve dealt with my husband being incarcerated, and I became a single mom in front of the world. But I think that on the flip side, people saw me as a pregnant woman, going to school and getting my degree…”
