Pokemon GO is currently celebrating the release of Pokemon Let's Go and the Meltan Special Research and it seems that Niantic is also using the occasion as a reason to release a new shiny family into the game. There wasn't an official announcement, but players around the world have been reporting shiny Magnemite encounters and sharing screenshoot proof. This means that completionists now have three new shiny models to add to their collections.

Magnemite does seem to currently have an increased spawn rate in Pokemon GO, so players should have plenty of chances to encounter the electric/steel-type in hopes of gaining a shiny (or three). Although the first two forms have a pretty striking difference, some players are disappointed by the final shiny evolution.

For players who want to know what to keep an eye out for, here's a look at all three of the new shiny models in Pokemon GO...

Magnezone isn't incredibly important to the current metagame, but it is still a strong Pokemon and at the very least would be a cool shiny to show off to friends, leave in gyms, or maybe even send over to Pokemon Let's Go.

Collecting shiny Pokemon doesn’t give the trainer any kind of advantage in battle, but it is still a fun additional challenge to add into the game. Shiny Pokemon are perfect for leaving in Gyms to show off to the rest of the community.

Be sure to check back throughout the week for plenty of Pokemon GO and Pokemon Let’s Go guides now that the Switch game launched and the mobile game’s events are underway. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is currently available in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
