BISMARCK – A 27-year-old south-central North Dakota man who had been out of prison only nine days when he sexually assaulted a woman has been sentenced to more than 19 years in federal prison.

Clifford See Walker of Solen on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation was sentenced last week in federal court for aggravated sexual assault by force for entering a home in Fort Yates on April 27, 2017, when the victim was sleeping and forcefully holding her down while he sexually assaulted her, said court documents.

The victim was eventually able to escape and call police, while Walker ran from the residence and was later arrested by Bureau of Indian Affairs police.
