Mile of Music adds 25 more acts to lineup

R&B guitarist and singer Son Little will be a part of Mile 3.

R&B singer and guitarist Son Little, the folk pop pair Lily & Madeleine and "stomp 'n' roll" duo the Ghost Wolves are among the latest batch of additions to the Mile of Music lineup.

Also among the newly announced performers for the Aug. 6-9 festival in downtown Appleton are previous Mile of Music visitors Earl Burrows, GGOOLLDD, Hugh Bob and the Hustle, Jaik Willis and the Kickback, among others.

Of the latest 25 additions, 10 are Mile of Music newcomers and 15 are returning for at least a second visit.

The number of known artists for the festival, which will set about 800 live music performances in 65 venues in downtown Appleton and along the Fox River, sits at 101.

The remainder of the roughly 175 acts that will perform will be announced in the weeks to come. The performance schedule is expected to be announced in mid-June.

The majority of performances at Mile of Music, now in its third year with a continued focus on original songwriting and a heavy leaning on the folk, Americana and indie rock genres, are free.

Ticket packages are available, including the $139 music-maker subscriptions, which gives access to special events not only during the festival but during other times of the year. A $95 music-maker festival badge also is available that gives access to special events during the festival itself. The packages are designed as a way for the community to help support the festival and pick up a few perks along the way.
