Three people died Monday when the car they were riding in struck a tree and burst into flames in a Casselberry neighborhood, officials say.
The driver was Alexander Rivera, 26. In the front seat was Samisoni Koroitamudu, 22, an Orlando DJ and electronic dance music producer who went by Big Makk professionally. The third person has not been identified.
Koroitamudu was selected this month to play a set at Orlando’s Electric Daisy Carnival, a large electronic dance music festival scheduled for November at Tinker Field.
“Y’all don’t understand what this means to me!” he wrote in a tweet Thursday. “Finally playing EDC Orlando this year!”
Crews responded shortly before 7 a.m. to reports of a car fire on Lake Drive near All Faiths Memorial Park, a Seminole County Fire Rescue spokesman said.
Firefighters said the Dodge Challenger, which left the road and struck a tree, was fully engulfed when they arrived. Crews quickly put out the flames and found three people dead inside, the spokesman said.
Investigators are trying to idenfity the third victim.
Crews shut down Lake Drive near the cemetery, between Park Drive and Hilltop Road, while police investigated.
