LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Several kilograms of cocaine were discovered during a traffic stop in Lamar County on Thursday morning, according to Sheriff Danny Rigel.

Rigel said deputies pulled over a vehicle driven by 32-year-old Salvador Lopez Guzman, of Collinsville, AL, on U.S. Highway 59 around 8:30 a.m.

According to Rigel, a search of the vehicle turned up three kilograms of cocaine, a handgun and cash. Rigel said the street value of the cocaine is about $75,000.

Rigel said the Drug Enforcement Administration charged Guzman with possession of over a kilogram of cocaine with a firearm enhancement. Guzman is being held at the Stone County Jail.
