Man arrested in connection with Lincolnton kidnapping case

LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Gastonia Police have arrested a man believed to be involved with the kidnapping of a woman on Sept. 26.

Reginald Aaron Ballard, 42, has been charged with felony 1st degree kidnapping, felonious restraint, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault by pointing a gun and communicating threats.

Ballard was arrested on Tuesday morning after an off-duty Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy spotted him walking along Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia. The deputy flagged a Gastonia Police officer down who proceeded to conduct the arrest. Ballard has since been transferred to the custody of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Ballard’s first appearance in Lincoln County District Court on Oct. 17.
