A Poweshiek County judge will begin a three-day hearing Tuesday over whether to suppress the confession of the man charged with murdering college student Mollie Tibbetts. Attorneys for Cristhian Bahena Rivera requested that the judge throw out his confession, because police interrogators did not fully explain Bahena Rivera's rights to him. On Friday, prosecutors agreed that some of Bahena Rivera's interrogation should be suppressed, but not all of it. Attorneys for Bahena Rivera also plan to call two expert witnesses to testify about sleep deprivation during interrogations. A Poweshiek County judge will begin a three-day hearing Tuesday over whether to suppress the confession of the man charged with murdering college student Mollie Tibbetts.
Attorneys for Cristhian Bahena Rivera requested that the judge throw out his confession, because police interrogators did not fully explain Bahena Rivera's rights to him.

On Friday, prosecutors agreed that some of Bahena Rivera's interrogation should be suppressed, but not all of it.
