Tyler Tessier Wants His Statements To Police Thrown Out: Report

The man accused of killing his girlfriend, a pregnant Wilde Lake High School teacher, is reportedly saying police violated his rights.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — The man accused of killing a pregnant Wilde Lake teacher last September is set to appear in court Friday in Montgomery County. A judge will reportedly consider a request to discard statements that Tyler Tessier, 33, provided to police.

Tessier is charged with murder in the death of Laura Wallen, a 31-year-old teacher who was reported missing in September 2017 and whose body was found buried in a field days later, police said. Her body was found near property in Damascus where Tessier, the father of her unborn child, had been staying, police said.

Tessier's lawyer plans to argue that his client's constitutional rights were violated when he was questioned by police officers, who allegedly ignored his request for counsel and tried to convince him to talk to them without his lawyer present, WTOP reported.
