Watch Lady Antebellum Parody ‘All About That Bass’ for a Good Cause
As LadyAID nears its two-year anniversary, the charitable foundation’s organizers are being honored for their commitment to those in need. Lady Antebellum‘s Dave Haywood, Charles Kelley and Hillary Scott are the 2015 recipients of the Artist Humanitarian Award, given by Country Radio Broadcasters at the annual Country Radio Seminar in Nashville.
The country group is being recognized for helping communities in the wake of natural disasters, such as their work to rebuild a flood-ravaged elementary school in Kingston Springs, Tennessee, in 2010. They also performed a makeshift “prom” for a school in Henryville, Indiana, that was destroyed by a tornado, followed by a benefit concert for the town that raised almost a quarter million dollars.
The trio’s LadyAID, founded in 2012, helps kids in need all over the world, with a focus on children’s hospitals. And this fall, Lady Antebellum started the 7FOR7 campaign, surprising seven deserving fans in seven days with gifts such as a trip to Disney World, a day full of spa treatments and a classroom full of instruments.
And, of course, the trio knows how to put a little humor in humanitarianism. In the video above, the band changes the lyrics to pop sensation Meghan Trainor’s hit “All About That Bass,” making it “All About That Beard” (no stubble), in honor of the “No Shave November” movement. This month, groups across the country are ditching razors all in the name of cancer awareness and prevention. Lady A’s No Shave November efforts will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
