Is it time for Cote de Pablo to have new series-regular gig?
Should a new show starring Cote de Pablo also happen? Absolutely — but unfortunately we’re not someone who really gets a chance to make these sort of decisions.
Let’s start by reminding you that it’s been far too long since we’ve seen Cote on TV — think back to 2015. That’s when she was a part of The Dovekeepers on CBS. Before that, her role as Ziva on NCIS ended all the way back in 2013. That’s a good four and a half years ago! Not having one of the most dynamic personalities on TV for that stretch of time is a rather depressing thing to think about. There were talks back in 2016 about her starring in a new Syfy project in Prototype, but it never got past the pilot phase of production.
Provided of course that Cote wants to do another long-term TV project, we imagine that there could and should be opportunities for her out there. We already know that she’s more than capable of doing some excellent action sequences, so she seems perfectly suited for a cable series on either USA or TNT. We could also see her on a historical drama, one of the ambitious, top-dollar kind that you see on either Netflix or Amazon. Or, how about a comedy? We’re all for seeing someone do something that is wholly and completely different than anything that we’ve had a chance to see them do before.
Would it behoove her to get back to doing another procedural like NCIS? We do think that would be an easy way to court some old fans, and we’ve already made our case as to why she should appear on Bull. (We’d make it again, but we won’t out of fear of just standing on ceremony and repeating ourselves time and time again.)
Ultimately, the ball is going to be in Cote’s court to decide what she wants to do, and then from there major networks to determine whether or not they want to bring her on board. This is one of the best times in order to start having these conversations, given that pilot season is just about upon us and with that, there are going to be some roles opening up. We would just like 2018 to be the year of getting to see some fantastic familiar faces again. There is so much nostalgia-based TV out there in terms of shows coming back. Why can’t we do the same in terms of getting some of our favorite actors back on TV, as well?
Do you want to see Cote de Pablo do a new show in 2018, and what sort of show do you want it to be? Feel free to share some of your thoughts in the comments!

Absolutely yes! Cote’s genuine talent is so missed. She crafts any character she is given to portray to an A++ level.

I’d love to see Cote reinvent herself and explore her singing talent. I think that given the whole allure with the Latino music flavor at the mo it could be cool to do a kind of semi historicalesque dramedy on the rise of a Latin artist or artistic genre/style/epoch/controversy/revolution etc. She is also a good dancer. Either that or a historic series on New Mexico’s integration into the States :)

I can’t help wondering if Cote was the victim of the same sort of shut out Ashley Judd and Mira Sorvino experienced?

I’d like to see her return to NCIS A mysterious person calls Gibbs and asks for help. But before they can say what has happened things go dead. Gibbs decides not to say anything to anyone until he can find out whats going on. Only Gibbs and the audience know whats happening. Did he hear the name Ziva mentioned before the line went dead.

Cote left of her own accord. She said the episodes got too political and she hurt herself a number of times in fight sequences. Now that her father is dead, Mossad need no longer be in it.
She could be a lone spy or a P.I. who looks into international espionage plans etc. This is her new life. She doesn’t want to involve Tony and Talia.
