Romeo Santos awarded for Formula, Vol 2.
Romeo Santos, the top finalist for the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards, was awarded an 11x Diamante/RIAA LAtin G&P certification from the RIAA for over 600,000 in sales of his album Fórmula, Vol. 2. This is Santos’ second studio album as a solo artist. Formula, Vol. 2 was released in February 2014 and has produced such chart-toppers as “Propuesta Indecente” (Indecent Proposal), “Odio” ft. Drake, “Eres Mía”, “Yo También” ft. Marc Anthony, and “Hilito”.
Ricky Martin unveiled his star in Puerto Rico
Yesterday (Feb. 4), Puerto Rican heartthrob Ricky Martin unveiled his star in the Puerto Rico Walk of Fame. The newly-opened Walk of Fame has already given stars to Roselyn Sanchez and WIllie Colon.
Nicky Jam continues his success
Nicky Jam, up for 11 Billboard Latin Music Awards, is poised to also make a splash in the 2017 edition. His new video, “Hasta el amanecer,” has already been viewed over 53 million times on Youtube in just three weeks.
Diego Torres new single Iguales
The Argentine singer-songwriter Diego Torres has released “Iguales” (Equals), the third single from his latest album Buena Vida (Good Life). Written by Diego Torres with Claudia Brant and Marcelo Wengrovski, this song speaks of everything that makes us unique, yet similar.
Manny Manuel is back
The king of hearts, Manny Manuel, is back with new single “Por Tu Respiración”. This is the first cut from his new album “Pégate De Mi Mambo” which also features collaborations with Tito El Bambino and Milly Quezada.
Daddy Yankee celebrates his birthday with a 10-minute song
Daddy Yankee, celebrated his birthday by releasing a new song called “Alerta Roja” (Red Alert) featuring fifteen other Latin urban acts, many of them artists he’s close with and has collaborated with during the years. They include Nicky Jam, J Balvin, Plan B, Farruko, and Gente de Zona; among others. Listen to the song below.
Juan Gabriel releases new video with Laura Pausini
The newest video from Juan Gabriel’s Los Duo 2 is “Abrazame muy fuerte” featuring Laura Pausini. “Duo 2” crowns Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart (week ending Feb. 13).
Karol G signs to Universal Music Latin Entertainment
Colombian pop/urban singer Karol G was scooped up by Universal Music Latin Entertainment. Karol G (her full last name is Giraldo) has amassed over 100 million YouTube views from several videos released in Colombia, including one with Nicky Jam. She is repped here by Al Zamora and Alex Rodriguez and is the first signing under Universal Music Latino new GM Alejandro Duque.
