Tiverton High Holds Assembly To Honor Parkland Dead

The March 14 event had to be rescheduled due to weather.

TIVERTON, RI — The students within Tiverton High School lead a brief Assembly of Support in the gymnasium this morning. The gathering was planned for March 14th, however needed to be rescheduled due to the most recent snowfall. The assembly honored the victims of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting and was a collective effort made by the members of the Student Council within each class. The names of each student and faculty member that were lost in the Florida tragedy were read by a member of the Tiverton High School student body or a staff member, to an audience of their peers. The students, staff and faculty then paused for 17 seconds of silence in honor and reflection of those lives lost. Members of the Tiverton Police Department were on school grounds in a show of support.
