Dale County will host Alabama Bicentennial traveling exhibit in June

Dale County, Alabama, has been chosen to display a customized exhibit in June that commemorates the State of Alabama’s 200-year existence.

Making Alabama. A Bicentennial Traveling Exhibit, presented by the Alabama Humanities Foundation, will display 200 years of Alabama history in the Dowling Museum-Ann Rudd Art Center in downtown Ozark. The exhibit will be on display from Saturday, June 9 to Saturday, June 23 and the hours for viewing are from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Blending artistic collages and images, the exhibit features interactive computer tablets and an audio medley of song and spoken word to tell the story of Alabama from becoming a territory to achieving statehood. It also conveys a message of “Hope” in its presentation about the future.

Beginning in April four exhibits will be on tour for 19 months travelling concurrently to all of Alabama’s 67 counties and Dale County is honored to host the exhibit during the month of June. The public is invited to the Opening Celebration at the Ann Rudd Art Center on The Square in Ozark, Saturday, June 9 from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening.
