Sally Field on ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’: ‘It’s Not My Kind of Movie’
Sally Field was not a fan of “The Amazing Spider-Man.”
Visiting “The Howard Stern Show,” Field admitted that the movie didn’t quite click with her.
“It’s not my kind of movie,” the actress said. “But my friend Laura Ziskin was the producer, and we knew it would be her last film, and she was my first producing partner, and she was a spectacular human.”
She also didn’t think too highly of her character, Aunt May, who is beloved among many comic book fans.
“Not a great deal,” she answered when Stern asked her about the effort she put into the character (via Vulture). “It’s really hard to find a three-dimensional character in it, and you work it as much as you can, but you can’t put 10 pounds of s– in a five-pound bag.”
Field played Aunt May in both “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” alongside Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone. Spidey has since been recast, with newbie Tom Holland donning the blue and red suit for “Captain America: Civil War.” The young actor made his debut in the film’s latest trailer to much fan excitement. “Civil War” bows May 6.
