You know the drill, Denver. Wednesday should be sunny for a while with a chance of thunderstorms and showers after 3 p.m.

Temperatures should remain warm with a high of 83 degrees predicted by the National Weather Service in Boulder. Light winds should keep things breezy.

Meteorologists said there is a marginal risk for a few severe storms, mainly over far northeast Colorado along and north of the Interstate 76 corridor. The heavy storms could produce damaging winds and hail, so be on the lookout.

Storm coverage is expected to decrease Thursday through Saturday, bringing drier and warmer conditions, experts said.

The rest of the week shows temperatures creeping close to the 90s with Saturday expected to reach a scorching 92 degrees. This could be an ideal weekend to hit the pool with an iced beverage or take refuge in an air-conditioned movie theater with a barrel-sized soda.

A brewing storm system will up the chance for more thunderstorms and severe weather along the Front Range Interstate 25 corridor late this weekend into early next week.
