Authorities say no one was injured when a small plane landing at a municipal airport in eastern Indiana slid on a snowy runway and went across a state highway.

The (Richmond) Palladium-Item reports the plane came to rest Monday morning against a fence bordering a farm field near Richmond Municipal Airport after crossing Indiana highway 227. The newspaper says three people were aboard.

The National Weather Service issued winter weather advisories for northern Indiana, with snow and ice expected into Tuesday.

The weather comes after snow Sunday caught Indiana motorists unprepared , leading to multiple crashes. State police say 62-year-old Glen A. Sharp of Wheatfield lost control on snow-covered Interstate 65 in Jasper County and collided with a tanker truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
