WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: We just can’t get enough of Cameron’s incredible raw talent. The Disney alum recently announced some crazy exciting news. As of November 20th, Cameron has taken on the ~iconic~ role of Cher Horowitz in Clueless: The Musical.
Cameron is certainly no stranger to musicals, which we’ve seen from her showstopping performance in Hairspray Live! And her acting skills are off the chart! Just ask the Emmy she won for her roles on Liv and Maddie. With the voice of an angel and a total acting pro, there is no doubt that Cameron will rock this role, plus the many others she has coming up (check Netflix for Dumplin’ coming this Friday!). Clueless: The Musical officially opens December 11 and runs until January 12, 2019 in NYC. If you thought you saw the end of 2018’s year of reboots, well I only have one thing to say: As if!

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Cameron’s most famous roles are twins Liv and Maddie Rooney on the Disney Channel show, Liv and Maddie. Liv is a hyper feminine teen actress who just got back home after filming in Hollywood for four years, while twin sister Maddie is a tomboy with an affinity for basketball. Cameron’s portrayals of the twins earned her a Daytime Emmy win for Outstanding Performer in A Children’s Series. Not straying far from the Disney realm, Cameron originated the role of Mal in Descendants and Descendants 2. Plus she even appears in Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D as super villain Ruby Hale. Additionally, Cameron starred as Amber von Tussle in NBC’s Hairspray Live and as Holly in Shameless.
WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Stay tuned because this Friday, Netflix’s new original movie Dumplin’ hits the streaming platorm. Cameron appears as Bekah Cotter, the pageant contestant that’s favored to win. Next year, she will also be appearing in the third installment of Disney’s Descendants franchise as Maleficent’s daughter Mal. Cameron is also voicing roles in The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Disney’s Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors.
