Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Stone Gossard came together to perform at a special event in honor of their former manager Michele Anthony, who was being named Music Visionary of the Year by UJA-Federation of New York.

Before their duo performance, Vedder told a story of Anthony helping him through a tough time, prompting him and Gossard to meet in their Holiday Inn bathroom and write Pearl Jam’s hit “Daughter,” the song they played at the event. During the story, Vedder said, “One thing about a Holiday Inn, the acoustics in the bathroom are incredible. The thick towels at fancy hotels are not good for sound.”

Also present at the UJA event was host Sharon Osbourne and performer Alessia Cara, plus Irving Azoff, Gloria Steinem and more.
