Lance Armstrong is barred by the terms of a lifetime doping ban from participating in a charity bike ride this weekend that would have reunited him with former U.S. Postal Service teammates, USA Cycling ruled.

Armstrong can’t take part in the third annual Gran Fondo Hincapie in Greenville, South Carolina, on Oct. 26 because it constitutes an authorized activity by USA Cycling, the organization said yesterday in an e-mailed statement.
