2 Charged With Selling Alcohol To Minors: Cops

The women were charged after an undercover operation by the New York State Liquor Authority, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Two women were charged with selling alcohol to minors in Riverhead recently, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department COPE unit, in cooperation with the Riverhead Community Awareness Program, conducted a New York State Liquor Authority investigation over the past weekend into the sale of alcohol to people under the age of 21, police said.

Shana Boeckmann from PeraBell, 65 East Main St., and Kelly Dueffert of TGI Fridays, 1480 Old Country Rd., were arrested and charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child, police said.

Checks were also conducted on the following locations, and all other establishments were found to be in compliance, police said.
