Larry Eugene Oliphant

Larry Eugene Oliphant, age 72, of Rockaway Beach, Mo. passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016. He was born February 2, 1944 in Fayetteville, Ark., to Garland and Julia Oliphant. He graduated from Fayetteville High School and Central Baptist Bible College in Conway, Ark. He was an active member of the Elks Lodge since 1978. He served in many positions including Exalted Ruler of the Lake Taneycomo Elks Lodge #2597. He was currently Leading Knight and Past Exalted Ruler. Larry was also a member of the AMVETS Post 78. Survivors include his longtime special friend, Sandy Stoddard of Rockaway Beach, Mo.; two daughters, Kristen Oliphant Pickett of Portland, Ore. and Audra Oliphant of Little Rock, Ark., two sisters, Brenda Oliphant of Philadelphia, Pa. and Kim Ferguson of Farmington, Ark.; son-in-law, Mark Pickett; grandson, Ira James Pickett of Portland, Ore.; and a host of friends and relatives. Visitation will be at Beard's Chapel in Fayetteville from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. in the Round Mountain Cemetery on Friday, April 8, 2016.
