HAYS 03/15/1948 - 07/14/2018 Mr. Frederic Henry McCall, age 70, husband of Sara Spicer McCall, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Wake Forest Baptist-Wilkes Medical Center. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Mountlawn Memorial Park in North Wilkesboro. A memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Boonville Baptist Church with Rev. John Brown officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Fred was born March 15, 1948 in Canadaigua, NY to Paul and Emma Klingbeil McCall. He was a member of Boonville Baptist Church where he has been the Music Director for the past 10 years. Prior to his service at Boonville Baptist Church he served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. Fred began the band program at North Wilkes High School where he retired after 33 years of service. Fred also taught at Wilkes Community College after retiring from the Wilkes County School System. He was also a member of Mountain View Ruritan Club, having served as past president, sponsored the Hunter Safety Club at North Wilkes High School, and was a member of Wilkes Y's Men's Club. He enjoyed teaching, fishing, hunting, traveling, creating music and being with his family. Fred had a soft heart and a keen sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hooten. He is survived by his wife, Sara Spicer McCall of the home; one son, Dr. Paul McCall and wife Laura of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandson, Liam McCall; one sister, Louise Fountain of Greenwood, SC; three sisters-in-law, Carol White and husband Robert of Roanoke, VA, Kaye Hall of Atlanta, GA, Marie Ray and George McBride of North Wilkesboro; two brothers-in-law, Archie Cashion and Rebecca Jacobs of Pfafftown, NC and Vance Macy of Pfafftown, NC; eleven nieces and nephews; and thirteen greatnieces and -nephews. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Boonville Baptist Church, 201 Baptist Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011. Online condolences may be made at www.reinssturdivant.com.
