That’s right, I said Norman Reedus. Do I have your attention? I thought so!

Ok technically, what Norman Reedus wants is for you to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He’s just counting on the fact that the grand prize in his latest of many charitable campaigns, which is being run through Omaze, is something that you’ve been wishing for as well, and that it will make you want to donate money to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Danai Gurira, aka Michonne, is running a similar contest for a charity that she co-founded, the Almasi Arts Alliance. If you’re interested in learning more about her charity or her contest, click here.

If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, there’s a very good chance that you have been wishing for pretty much exactly what Norman is giving away as the grand prize in this contest.

If you’re a fan of Norman Reedus, I’ll bet that a lot of you already want to donate money, even before I tell you what the prize is! After all, The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a very well known organization and a worthy cause. You’re really not doing it for yourself at all, are you? Certainly not because Norman Reedus’ name is attached to the contest.  As Daryl would say, “You keep telling yourself that.” (OK, maybe it’s just a little bit for you… but nothing wrong with that!)

The great thing here is that you can help a worthy charity AND get something for yourself. It’s a win-win!

Now, what about that prize I mentioned? It’s a good one. First, the winner will be flown to New York and given 4 star accommodations. The contest’s page also lists part of the prize as “see the season 6 opener before it airs and have lunch with Norman Reedus.” In a separate line, the website lists “attend the Walking Dead premiere and exclusive panel with the cast.”

Is the “season 6 opener” something different from the premiere, since it’s listed separately? I don’t know! Does it really matter in the end? Not at all! Whatever it is, there’s no doubt that this is an amazing prize.

I know what you’re thinking… “You had me at ‘lunch with Norman Reedus.'”

Donation levels range from $10 to $20,000, and include various incentives at the higher donation levels, such as digital thank you cards, t-shirts, autographs, Twitter “shout-outs,” framed art, a signed guitar and even a Skype session with Norman Reedus himself.

(Except, of course, that I’m definitely going to win that grand prize. Just so you know.)
