  • ONE Plus CEO vows upcoming flagships will be budget-friendly
  • ONE Plus 8 Pro will have high-end specs for less than $1,000
  • ONE Plus continues to offer good phones at a friendly price

ONE Plus owns the distinction of delivering high-end phones at a reasonable price. And it appears that practice remains the same for their upcoming ONE Plus 8. With most phones costing no less than $1,000, the upcoming flagship will use that pricing standpoint as its most expensive offering, something that consumers may want to check out.

For comparison purposes, it should be worth noting that the $1,000 point is where most high-end phones start today. It is the starting point for the Samsung Galaxy S20, the cheapest one in the clan. Folks who do not necessarily go for branding may want to check out the ONE Plus 8 instead, a device oozing with high-end features that will certainly be a bang for the buck, Slash Gear reported.

No less than ONE Plus CEO Pete Lau assured that their upcoming flagship will not go beyond the $1,000 mark, Business Insider reported. There will be two variants to choose from - the ONE Plus 8 and the ONE Plus 8 Pro. So far, only a handful of specs have been divulged but are perhaps the most important ones. This includes a device boasting of a Snapdragon 865 SoC with 5G connectivity, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0 storage, and, a 120Hz screen. Other rumored specs include wireless charging and an IP68 rating for the ONE Plus 8 Pro model.

Lau did not get into detail on what the ONE Plus 8 will cost. The ONE Plus 7T retailed for about $600 last year so a slight bump in the vicinity of $800 could be a feasible forecast.

Other specs detailed by Android Police for the ONE Plus 8 include a choice between 128 GB and 256 GB storage, a starting point of 8 GB RAM (goes up to 12 GB depending on the model), a 48 MP, 16 MP and 2 MP rear camera, a front-facing 16 MP camera and a 4,300 mAh battery.

As for the ONE Plus Pro 8, it pretty much offers the same except for the RAM, rear camera and battery. It comes with a 128/ 256 GB UFC 3.0 RAM and a 4,510 mAh battery. As for the rear camera offer, the Pro version will have a primary 48 MP camera, an ultra-wide 48 MP shooter with 120-degree FOV, an 8 MP telephoto and 5 MP Color Filter. If the baseline price is pegged to be about $800, the Pro version could be around $900. That is still not bad considering the heavy specs the ONE Plus 8 series has to offer.
