Leslie Jordan is the 2006 Emmy Award Winner for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his delicious portrayal of "Beverley Leslie" on Will & Grace. Television audiences also recognize him from his recurring roles on Boston Legal, Ugly Betty, Reba, Desperate Housewives, and the successful 2017 reboot of Will & Grace. Feature film audiences will recognize Jordan from his performance as "Brother Boy" in Del Shores' adaptation of his play Sordid Lives, with Olivia Newton-John, Delta Burke and Beau Bridges. He also appeared in Academy Award-winning blockbuster film The Help, filmed in Jackson, Miss.

Exposed gives the audience an intimate taste of Leslie Jordan's life experiences as a flamboyant youth raised as a Southern Baptist, as well as unbelievable real life stories of "behind the scenes" of his stage and television performances. WARNING Exposed can cause a great deal of laughter and a few tears.

Opening for Jordan will be songwriters Danny Myrick and Travis Howard with "Secret Stories of Country Music". Songs. You've danced to them, fallen in love to them, laughed and cried in the seminal moments of your life to them. Now Mississippi native Danny Myrick and Travis Howard, the writers of some of your favorite country songs sit in a rare, candid storytelling session to unveil the origins these unforgettable hits made famous by Tim McGRaw, Dierks Bentley, Miranda Lambert, LoCash and more. Where were some of those famous lines born? And what do the writers remember when they sing those songs? The secret stories of country music.

On Saturday, January 20 at 7:30 pm, New Stage Theatre will present a staged reading of Glory! Glory!, which was co-conceived by Leslie Jordan and Michael Lotus and co-written by Leslie Jordan, Linda Burgess and William Dunlap, with original music by Travis Howard and Danny Myrick. General admission tickets are $10. Glory! Glory! is presented in The Mississippi Plays Series as part of the Eudora Welty New Plays Series.

Long before mega-churches and televangelists came on the scene, the Traveling Tent Revival meeting was a spirit-filled and entertainment staple of American life. Glory! Glory! revisits this timeless tradition with an outrageous, over-the-top, musically gifted ensemble of actor/performers working from a script that embraces, to one extent or the other, all Seven Deadly Sins (pride, anger, gluttony, greed, lust, envy, and sloth, in case you've forgotten) - and then some.

The Mississippi Plays Series is a new program being offered as part of The Eudora Welty New Plays Series. Staged readings of eight new contemporary plays about Mississippi, or written by Mississippians will be presented throughout the season.
