Russia Beats U.S. In World Hockey Semifinal

Russia defeated the United States, 4-0, in the semifinal round of the ice hockey world championship on May 16 in the Czech capital, Prague.

Russia will now face Canada, which earlier in the day bested the host Czech Republic, 2-0, in the first semifinal match. The championship game will take place in Prague on May 17.

Russia's win over the United States avenged an earlier loss in the tournament, 4-2, on May 4.

Canada has now won nine out of nine games in the tournament.

The Czech Republic and the United States will play for bronze.
