Jé Goolsby died on January 26, 2019. An iconic resident of Santa Barbara, he was born in Livingston, TN and grew up in Los Angeles, CA where he attended the Art Institute. Jé then moved to Santa Barbara, CA, acquiring a BFA at UCSB in 1962.

An active part of the Mountain Drive community in the 60s, he moved to the Mesa after losing his home in the Coyote fire. Jé had a long career as a commercial graphic artist, and he prolifically created as a hobby through painting, sculpture, writing and architecture throughout much of his life. His Mesa home became his biggest art project.

Jé is survived by his four adult children, his brother and eight grandchildren as well as Janice Kettler, his fifth wife whom he regarded as the love of his life.
