LONDON — The teaser trailer of a film depicting Alan Partridge, a fictional cult British talk- and radio-show host portrayed by Steve Coogan, has arrived online.
The trailer shows Partridge (Coogan) with fellow North Norfolk Radio employees discussing possibilities for the title of the film, which will be a “siege” at a radio station with action, fun, tension, danger and, according to Partridge, “heavy kissing and guns.”

Patridge then lists some title suggestions, with Colossal Velocity, Partridge’s favorite, rejected, opting instead for Alan Patridge Is in Alpha Papa.
The trailer concludes with a voice-over: “When’s it out?” with Partridge deadpanning, “Don’t know, don’t care,” before the U.K. release date is posted as Aug. 7.
The film, with the previous working title The Alan Partridge Movie, will be released in the U.K. by StudioCanal, which also is handling international sales of the film to be launched during Cannes 2013.
Making his big-screen debut, the legendary DJ character is joined by Partridge graduates Felicity Montagu, Tim Key, Simon Greenall, Phil Cornwell, Nigel Lindsay and Darren Boyd.
Coogan’s Partridge character is featured in mockumentary series Mid Morning Matters With Alan Partridge, about a North Norfolk Digital Radio show.
The movie sees Partridge trying to salvage his career while negotiating a potentially violent turn of events at North Norfolk Digital Radio.
Coogan’s Baby Bow Films produces with backing from BBC Films, BFI Fund and StudioCanal.
It is written by Neil and Rob Gibbons as well as Coogan, Peter Baynham and Armando Ianuucci, all of whom are executive producers on the film.

He also directed one-off Alan Partridge on Open Books with Martin Bryce.
Producers are Kevin Loader and Henry Normal.
