Owego worker killed when struck by front loader

OWEGO, N.Y. — An Owego man was killed in an industrial accident Monday at Upstate Shredding in Owego, according to New York State Police

Michael T. Burke, 49, was walking across the scrap yard when he was hit by a front loader that was being operated by another worker.

Emergency personnel responded and pronounced Burke dead at the scene.

Owego Police Department and the United States Occupational, Safety and Health Administration are conducting an investigation.
