A Budweiser Clydesdale and Dalmatian from the famous advertising campaign demonstrate a smooch in advance of an attempt Saturday to break the Guinness World Records title for most couples kissing under mistletoe. Three U.S. centers will participate, including the Merrimack location.
MERRIMACK — Merrimack is one of three Anheuser-Busch Biergarten and Tour Centers hoping to break the Guinness World Records for most couples kissing under the mistletoe.
This year, Anheuser-Busch hopes to bring together more than 900 couples ages 21 and older to share the love against a background of thousands of sparkling holiday lights at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Guinness World Record judges will be at each of the three sites — 221 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, and sites in St. Louis, Mo., and Fort Collins, Colo. — to officiate the official, simultaneous attempt.
Participating couples will be given their own sprigs of mistletoe to hold above their heads, and they must maintain their holiday kiss for at least five seconds for the record to be broken.
“Anheuser-Busch invites couples of all kinds to participate in the record attempt, as long as they’re two humans, ages 21 and older,” according to Anheuser-Busch’s guidelines.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. Registered participants must be in line to be guaranteed admission. The record attempt will be at 7 p.m.
The Merrimack location is also featuring its Brewery Lights display of more than 250,000 lights. It is open for families and friends to ring in the holidays on Thursdays and Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 29.
