Watertown woman charged after stealing from cemetery, deputies say

Deputies say a Watertown woman is charged after stealing flowers and ornaments from a cemetery.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Shannon Rounseville, 45, was caught stealing from Evans Mills Cemetery after a victim installed a trail camera.

Deputies say Rounseville was identified from images of her and her vehicle from the camera. Officials located the stolen items at her residence and charged Rounseville with three counts of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and cemetery desecration in the second degree.

Rounseville was arraigned in the City of Watertown court and released on her own recognizance. She is scheduled to appear in City Court on June 18 and Town of Leray Court on June 20.
